Thompson, Manchester U.K. The 'British Printer' of Nov/Dec. 1931 has an advertisement and editorial support which possibly indicates the launch date. Advantages claimed by the manufacturer were its direct feed onto the guides (lays), a definite advantage when feeding thin or floppy stock which tended to crease or buckle easily, lateral delivery gripper bar which duplicated the feeder and reduced the distance to travel, a supplementary 'left hand' side lay which pushed to the right, necessary when backing up in dead register and the novel idea of having the forme rollers geared to the roller tracks which stopped any skidding especially at high speed.
