Extract from advertisement.
A quality stop-cylinder press, made for the most exacting forms of woodcut, book and colour printing. The register is perfect, speed equal to drum [single-revolution] presses of any size. Each press is provided with our new patent guide [lay], which is fastened to the cylinder and does away with the tongues [as 2 revolution presses - later stop-cylinder presses preferred this on-cylinder system]. They run quietly, smoothly, without bed-springs or the need of them, and occupy far less room than large cylinder presses of the same capacity. The above cut shows the delivery with tapes, but we make presses with and without them, as preferred by the purchaser. [Note machines of this vintage still requiring a bench or table to deliver the sheets on!]
The inking arrangement of this press seems not much different to late model two-revolution presses.
