The advertisement states, 'Original Introducers Into Great Britain, Patentees and Manufacturers of the "Improved" Model Printing Machines'. Similar in construction to other 'Boston' types, Golding, Peerless, Furnival etc. This press has an unusual inking arrangement with the circular ink disc set into a rectangular base, evidently designed to increase inking power. One London printer is reputed to have had 60 of these platens installed.
